If you get the below error when starting mongodb
ERROR: child process failed, exited with error number 100
Try amending the mongod conf in /etc/mongo.conf by adding the below
smallfiles = true
init.d
run init.d script as different user
To run a init.d script as a different user.
Add the below to the script
daemon --user=my_user
sudo unable to execute etc init d no such file or directory
If you receive the below error when running an init.d script or another script.
sudo unable to execute etc init d no such file or directory
Check that your file does not have any ^m windows characters as this might be the case.
Graphite Seyren
I have been looking at options for alerting on Graphite metrics. Currently using seyren (https://github.com/scobal/seyren) which is an alerting dashboard addon for graphite, however there was no init.d script as part of the addon.
